Having trouble identifying the sex of your Spotted Lanternfly? 

• If you put it in the freezer, it will become slow. 
  • This means you can easily move around your Lanternfly without worrying about squirming!
    • remember a red spot on the abdomen means the Spotted Lanternfly is a female. 

Ever heard of the water bottle method? 

• If you hold an empty water bottle up to the Spotted Lanternflies, they will jump right in 
  • It is their defense mechanism to jump, so it makes them easy to catch!
